Jenny Logan

Owner, Certified Financial Planner®, Attorney

Hi! I'm Jenny Logan, Certified Financial Planner™, recovering attorney, rural living evangelist, aspiring homesteader, and owner of Chisholm Financial Planning & Investments.

For over 10 years I have worked with hundreds of clients to build and implement comprehensive financial plans personalized to their needs and goals.

I received my law degree from California Western School of Law and practiced as an estate planning, business transaction, and tax attorney. Additionally, I am a trained divorce mediator and have assisted mediation companies and clients with the financial complexities related to divorce. Because of this experience, much of my financial planning is from legal paradigm and shapes my guidance on many of the financial issues routinely faced by my clients.

After spending almost 15 years in San Diego, three of them in Coronado, I met my husband who was stationed in the Upstate New York region. I now run my business from a very small village on the shores of Lake Ontario in North Country New York. We are blessed to have landed in the most beautiful place surrounded by a wonderful community.

Andrew Logan

Managing Editor, Attorney

Andrew is an attorney and U.S. Army veteran. He attended Ole Miss for his undergraduate degree, dual-majoring in Latin American Studies and Spanish. He then spent 8 years in D.C. working on the senior staff for a U.S. Senator, where he honed his writing and editorial skills. Afterwards, he attended Washington and Lee University School of Law before entering the Army JAG Corps. Andrew now works as a District Attorney in our local region.

He spent his entire Army career at Fort Drum, New York—about as far away from Southern California as you can get—yet he somehow managed to convince Jenny to join him and trade the sun for the snow. When not enjoying the harsh winters North Country brings, Andrew can be found on his boat—Tennessee Time enjoying the scenery on Lake Ontario.

Now working as a civilian prosecutor for his day job, Andrew provides editorial support for Chisholm’s marketing and social media outputs.

Connor Mahoney

Client Services Associate

Connor graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology’s business program in 2016 and has specialized in client relations and brand consulting work for boutique, customer-focused businesses. Joining Chisholm in 2022 as a Client Services Associate, Connor works closely with Chisholm clients to facilitate all administrative aspects of their financial planning, from scheduling, onboarding, answering questions about our systems and process, and making sure their needs are met when it comes to receiving and implementing recommendations. Behind the scenes, Connor assists in creation and production of Chisholm’s educational content and customer-related communications.

Connor was awarded a certificate in Biblical, Liturgical & Cultural Studies from the Theopolis Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. In his free time he writes on the intersection of faith and the burgeoning Crypto currency industry.

When not working, Connor enjoys playing jazz piano and producing music. He is an accomplished sideman for local acts in his hometown of Melbourne, Florida, and his music has been featured in award-winning short films. He also uses his musical talents volunteering for the music ministry in his local church.

Vanessa Alanis

Certified Financial Planner®

Vanessa Alanis is an Accredited Financial Counselor™, a Chartered Financial Consultant™, and a Certified Financial Planner™.  Prior to joining Chisholm in 2022, she worked as a financial counselor to the United States Armed Forces, helping military families around the world navigate their Federal benefits and achieve financial security. She brings over 15 years of financial counseling and education experience to Chisholm where she provides para planning, and budget management services to clients.

Married to an Active-Duty service member, Vanessa has moved nine times, living both across the country and internationally. These moves reinforced for her the importance of flexibility, resiliency, and humor in life; traits that help her make nimble financial plans. She understands firsthand the importance of creating financial plans for clients that allow them to achieve their financial goals while also being flexible enough to handle whatever life inevitably throws at them.

Vanessa’s mantra to “be a little better each day” drives her professional life and her recreational activities. Whether she is participating in equestrian sports as a hunter-jumper, baking, or trying to PR a run, she looks to be a little better each time. (Her other mantra while on horseback is, “Stay On!”) Vanessa currently lives in Virginia with her husband, three children, and TD (Tiny Dog, a small beast of 70 pounds).
